WIZKIDS 'SEAL TEAM FLIX'
Dexterity-Based Combat Game
Thursday January 04, 2018
It’s elite Navy SEALS versus eco-terrorists in WizKids’ new dexterity-based game Seal Team Flix, releasing in July.
In Seal Team Flix, the players command a team of Navy SEALS sent to confront a terrorist organization called Gaia’s Hope. Over a series of missions fought over a modern urban landscape, the SEALs need to complete their mission and put a halt to the terrorists’ plans. Players can either play through a non-linear campaign that includes a total of eight missions, or play any of the game’s 17 missions individually. Each mission includes a number of objectives hidden on the map, which can include gathering intelligence, disarming bombs, or rescuing hostages.
Game play uses a dexterity based system, representing the skills needed by the SEALs, that involves wooden discs and 3d terrain features and stand-up figures, as well as dice, and a sand timer is used to limit the reaction time for the players.
Seal Team Flix was created by Peter C. Ruth II and Mark Thomas, and comes with 6 map boards, 2 double-side side boards, 6 player boards, 3d walls, 89 cards, 36 standees, 9 dice, 16 wooden discs, 19 wooden blocks, 1 sand timer, 1 timer track, and more than 100 tokens, as well as a campaign book describing the scenarios. The game can be played solo or with up to four players, and is intended for ages 14 and up. Scenarios take about an hour to play.
