Tyler Seguin Stars in Upper Deck NHL Video Boston Bruins Rookie Tyler Seguin Gives Fans What They Really Want in ‘Rookie Boot Camp’ Video No. 4!
Taped skit from Upper Deck captures NHL’s No. 2 overall draft pick giving his younger fans exactly what they ask for
Carlsbad, CA, Wednesday January 05, 2011
Fast on the heels of the most-viewed regular season hockey game in 36 years – last Saturday’s NHL Winter Classic® between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals – the Upper Deck Company is proud to present its very own unique video presentation. Only this effort centers around one up-and-coming NHL rookie, Boston Bruins center Tyler Seguin, who tested his acting chops at the 2010 NHLPA® Rookie Showcase photo shoot last fall in Toronto. Working alongside Upper Deck staffers, Seguin, the No. 2 overall pick, participated in a video skit in which he had to oblige some very demanding kids.
The vignette, aptly entitled “Give the Fans What They Want,” is the fourth video Upper Deck produced with many of the 23 rookies who participated at the event. Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roeu-HZvw04 to see Seguin respectfully cater to three insistent youngsters at Upper Deck’s Rookie Boot Camp to make sure his fans are getting exactly what they need.
The earlier video efforts from Upper Deck also showcased raw, new NHL talent. The first vignette featured prospects Mats Zuccarello-Aasen and Ryan McDonagh (N.Y. Rangers), Calvin de Haan (N.Y. Islanders), and Joe Colborne (Boston Bruins) and can be seen by clicking http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ge8yZ1RCd0, while the second showcased a trio of Edmonton Oilers rookies Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle and Magnus Paajarvi alongside Nashville Predators prospect Jonathon Blum: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLCzQCXc5O4. The third video, entitled “Rookies Learn Tips for Media Interviews,” shows Florida Panthers teammates Jacob Markstrom and Erik Gudbranson take part in a grueling Media Training session. Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvHOy2UUfoM and watch the action unfold.
Look for cards of many of the upstart rookies appearing in this week’s release of Upper Deck’s 2010-11 SP Game-Used Hockey set, which is scheduled to hit store shelves on Friday.
