Friday January 20, 2017

With a little less than a month until Product Orders are due, we wanted to take some time to explain exactly what is coming in the box in the form of the GameTrayz™ custom inserts and share some exciting news. Drive-Thru Review, Pair Of Dice (Dice Tower) and Rodney from Watch it Played named Wasteland Express one of their 3 most anticipated releases of 2017!

Most Anticipated

After years of hard work from Jon Gilmour (Dead of Winter), Ben Pinchback and Matt Riddle (Fleet), and years of development from our team at Pandasaurus Games, it's increadibly rewarding to see three of the most trusted review networks name Wasteland Express one of their most anticipated releases of 2017!

So, What is a GameTray™? One of the things we are most excited about with Wasteland Express is how quickly you can get a game up and running. We already knew the gameplay was going to stand out as one of the best playing games of the year, and the artwork and miniature quality was outstanding. But we wanted to go one step further and make Wasteland Express something no one had ever seen in the industry before.

We aimed the complexity of Wasteland Express as something a non "core" gamer would enjoy. The sort of gamer who plays Dead of Winter, Pandemic or Mysterium with friends. One challenge that we ran into was a long set-up time with the number of unique pieces in the box. So, we turned to the experts of game storage to correct these issues and leave Wasteland Express with a value proposition that is unique in the hobby gaming industry. Not only can you play the game within 5 minutes of opening the box, you are going to have easy accessible storage of all of the bits during play and a table presence that is going to demand the attention of anyone who walks by the game in play.

We believe this is the sort of value proposition that will really help the game at retail over the long haul and give the game the sort of buzz that creates a long tail for retail partners.

We're talking individual CardTrayz™ for each deck of cards, and yes they fit sleeves cards. A "Mod Shop" board that stores each truck upgrade individually with a cardboard overlay listing the prices to purchase the upgrades. 2 identical storage trays with currency and damage tokens. No more reaching across the table to make change, or sorting through various tokens to set the game up. Easy storage of the board components for easy set up. Even down to the small details like offsetting the Raider Enclave tiles at 45° angle to differentiate them from the regular city tiles. Even the smallest details like grooves for fingers to lift bits out, curved cavities that make scooping with hands simple. Formed lids to snap into place to hold all of the stored bits right where they are supposed to go. Players will pay a premium of 25-40 dollars to outfit their favorite games with after-market storage solutions. No need here. Everything comes in the box.
